COSTA RICAN COIN SPOON

This spoon has a silver 'coffee bean' finial and the bowl  is composed of




of a 50 (cent) centima silver coin dated 1895.

Costa Rica started issuing silver coins in 1850 and continued through  1896. This coin dated 1895 was therefore the last of this denomination
peso minted. It was replaced at par value by the Colon in 1896.
