Andrew Johnson was our 17th President.
He inherited the office upon the death of Abraham Lincoln.
His goal was to provide for a quick restoration of the southern states
to the Union, but his plans ran afoul of Congress and they tried to
impeach him.
Johnson was born in poverty and became a tailor by trade. He worked in
several frontier towns and finally settled in Greeneville, Tennessee.
The only spoon I have is this cute little demi featuring an engraved
picture of "Andrew Johnsons [sic] Tailor Shop" in Greenville,
Tenn. with an indian handle
Manufactured by Paye and Baker, sterling
