One of the major themes of this
important worlds fair was the 400th anniversary of the European
discovery of the 'new world' by
CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS in 1492.
THE MAIN THEME OF THESE STERLING SILVER SPOONS IS COLUMBUS
with a subtheme of his ship the Santa Maria

all spoons are sterling
In two cases, the spoons are turned over because I had duplicates --
thus you can see the back images
Some of the spoons are hand assembled while others are factory
productions

I like the cutout handle on this spoon.
The picture was made from a 'brown transfer print' which is a rare mode
of spoon bowl decoration
three dimensional cast image of Columbus with his right hand on the
head of a kneeling indian squaw and his left holding an anchor

three dimensional statue of Columbus with an anchor
nice profile image of Columbus
Of course, a related image to Columbus is his flagship the Santa Maria
nice embossed image of the Santa Maria

Nice demi spoon featuring Columbus at the finial and the Santa Maria in
the bowl
