PERSONIFICATIONS OF COLUMBIA

Columbia is a fictional  feminine personification of the USA which is to be emblematic of the whole country.
Her image varies depending upon the individual artist, however, the iconic image would  be readily
recognized by everyone at that point in history.
Since the 1920's her use in the popular media has declined, but her twin,
the Goddess of Liberty, is still used as a personification of Justice.
